Name: Review:
I recently purchased this 4K disc player and I must say, it's an absolute gem for its price point. At first glance, I thought it might not be worth the investment due to the lack of smart features, but what a revelation! Not only does it decode Dolby Vision and HDR10+, but also supports other high-end audio formats like DTS:X. What really sets it apart is its seamless integration with my existing 4K TV setup, eliminating the need for any additional smart devices.

I was a bit hesitant about purchasing this player since I already have a smart TV, but after doing some research, I discovered that they're usually bundled together at these prices. As for the remote control, it's actually quite decent in terms of build quality and functionality, considering its relatively low price point. The setup process is straightforward, and the menu system is easy to navigate.

One minor issue I had was with my initial order, which arrived damaged, resulting in a destroyed outer casing. Despite this, I was able to get a full refund and reorder the product - all thanks to excellent customer service. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this 4K disc player, despite its lack of smart features, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable high-end entertainment solution.

I'd been struggling with this controller, feeling like it was just begging to be pressed too hard, and within an hour of getting it up and running I had launched Netflix, by accident, about 50 times. The netflix button is directly above the up button on the direction control - a clever placement, but also one that makes it easy for me to accidentally press the wrong thing when trying to get my favorite shows up. If you have finger nails longer than 0.5mm, it's very difficult not to push it when pressing up and end up with a handful of popcorn in your hand. I was ready to box it up and send it right back but decided to see if any after market remotes were available. There were several options available, so I decided to spend an extra tenner to get one that actually worked properly.

It arrived the next day and is just the job - the picture quality from this player on my LG C2 OLED is stunning and it blows the Xbox One X out of the water. The interface may be a bit archaic, but it's virtually silent when in use and discs load up quickly, making it perfect for long gaming sessions.

One potential drawback is that the remote control can be a bit finicky - I've had to press a few extra times just to get the disc playback to start properly. Overall though, I'm very pleased with this player and would give it 5 stars if there wasn't one little problem.

As I've been on a quest for optimal home entertainment, I'd always gravitated towards mid-range Blu-ray and 4K players, valuing the perfect balance between picture quality and price. My trusty Arcam CD player had finally reached its end of its lifecycle, prompting me to explore an alternative pairing - namely, combining a new Blu-ray/4K player with my existing setup.

I unwrapped the package with considerable nervousness, scrutinizing every detail before clicking that all-important 'buy now' button. The initial excitement was palpable as I set up the new player, and after some trial and error, I discovered its true capabilities. Placing a 4K Lord of the Rings in the playback area, I was struck by the vibrant colors bursting forth from the screen, with hues that seemed almost... alive.

Dark scenes were particularly impressive, with nary a hint of digital grain or smear creeping into view. The picture quality was nothing short of breathtaking, and I found myself lost in the immersive world on display. But what truly impressed me was the depth and richness of the sound stage - it was as if I'd stumbled upon an entirely new sonic dimension.

One minor quibble, however: the menus seemed a tad slower than anticipated, which left me wondering about the potential for seamless integration with my existing setup. Still, it's clear that this Blu-ray/4K player is a worthy investment, offering a level of quality and depth I've rarely encountered at its price point.

With some decent equipment, I believe this player could truly unlock its full potential, but for now, I'm content to indulge in the pure, unadulterated joy of 4K cinema.
